Smart CT expands strategic spare parts network to meet rising demand

Technology lifecycle services expert Smart CT has boosted its ability to respond to its clients with the acquisition of 10,000 spare parts.

CEO Andy Morgan said the Reading company’s acquisition has grown its spare parts capacity by almost a third, which means it can offer an even more reliable service to its customers.

Smart CT deploys, maintains, replaces and repairs business-critical IT infrastructure on behalf of IT manufacturers who support an extensive range of organisations – including datacentres, government organisations, retailers and financial services via its partner network of manufacturers, managed service providers, system integrators and IT outsourcers.

The new parts have been through quality assurance and distributed across more than 50 stocking locations throughout Western Europe and the US.
Mr Morgan said the acquisition gives Smart CT an enviable resource for its customers. “We saw the opportunities to add to our stock over the last 12 months and moved in to secure them,” he said.

“There have been several significant purchases and it means we now have around 40,000 essential items dispersed around more than 50 warehouses across Europe, which allows us to keep pace with our steady growth in new customers and give even more assurance to our customers in different technologies including; networking, server & storage and retail point of sale technologies.”

A recent contract win means we also now have 65 engineers strategically placed ready to respond within as little as four hours. Because we understand our customers so well we recognise how business-critical it is to get technology connected at rapid speeds, so all of this makes us even better prepared.

Having the right resource in the right place is one matter, having the digital tools to manage this is another – our platforms guide us on which exact location and when to have the smartest engineer or buy the appropriate spare parts to ensure our maintenance offering is robust and assured. Large enterprises need to feel confident that they are in safe hands”

Smart CT ended 2025 with a string of new contract wins, bringing over 150,000 of additional devices under its support in retail, government organisations, health bodies and utility companies on behalf of large Technology organisations.

“We’ve grown because we have a track record in delivering excellent customer service and reliability,” said Mr Morgan. “We have a 99 per cent on time delivery because we can get engineers out quickly to deploy or replace devices and, where we can, we will repair devices, or reuse parts, to keep them out of landfill so we are truly a part of the circular economy.”
