Smart CT is proud to announce that we have officially joined the Armed Forces Covenant, marking a significant milestone in our ongoing commitment to supporting those who serve, or have served, in the UK Armed Forces.
What is the Armed Forces Covenant?
The Armed Forces Covenant represents a promise from Smart CT to members of the Armed Forces community, including veterans, reservists, and their families, that they will be treated with fairness, respect, and recognition for the valuable skills and experience they bring to our business.
This pledge is a reflection of our belief that those who have served our country deserve meaningful opportunities and support as they transition into civilian life.
Did you know?
Veterans of the UK armed forces currently make up 8.5% of Smart CT staff.
In 2024, Smart CT aligned with an exclusively ex-military recruitment firm that sources candidates who are either veterans, reservists or due to leave the armed forces and looking to transition into civilian life.
In 2025 alone, we have employed three veterans across various roles within our business, and we plan to continue expanding this initiative in the years ahead.

1. Promote the Armed Forces
We will proudly promote Smart CT as a Forces Friendly Employer to our staff, customers, suppliers, contractors, and the wider public, demonstrating our support at every level of the organisation.
2. Support employment opportunities
We actively support the employment of veterans by partnering with an ex-military recruitment agency and recognising the transferable skills developed through service, including leadership, resilience, teamwork, and problem-solving.
3. Honour national events
Smart CT supports key national events such as Armed Forces Day, Reserves Day, Remembrance activities, and the Poppy Appeal, celebrating and recognising the contribution of the Armed Forces community throughout the year.
4. Strengthen communication and engagement
We will continue to share internal updates about our covenant commitments, raise awareness among staff, and dedicate our company charity day to military causes and events.
